Instrumentation is multidisciplinary branch of Engineering includes electronic , pneumatic , and hydraulic instrumentation systems . Computerized controls are used at a very large scale in process industries , refineries , petrochemical industries and many more. Biomedical Instrumentation is also an important subject in instrumentation . Because of this specific type of background an Instrumentation Engineer can choose his/her career in a wide range of engineering areas including IT industries . Automation being the primary objective , today the demand of Instrumentation Engineers is growing in Industry.

The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering has faculty specialized in Instrumentation, Digital Signal Processing, Process Control, Digital Control Systems, etc.
The Process Instrumentation lab is furnished with PID controlled flow loop, Cascade Control System & loop for determining Control valve characteristics. The Temperature PID controller is also available in the Department. The students are trained to work on the Pc based ABB & Anshuman PLC. The department is also having specialized Biomedical Instrumentation laboratory which consists of EEG, ECG, Automated BP m/c, Electro cautory machine etc and Analytical Instrumentation laboratory equipped with GC , Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, UV – VIS Spectrophotometer etc.The Department investment is about 53 Lacks for the development of these labs.
